Courses | Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)

An instrument rating will allow you to fly Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) anywhere within NZ. Whether you’re aiming for an aviation career or a casual private pilot, an instrument rating will sharpen your skills and transform your flying experience.

 

The instrument rating comprises 3 theory subjects and 40hrs of instrument flying training:

Theory: Instrument Navigation
    Instruments and Nav-aids
    Instrument Law
Flying: 40hrs including: 10hrs IFR cross country
    10hrs of IFR procedures training

 

The theory subjects can be self studied or you can attend classes.

 

Instrument rating minimum pre requisites is a PPL with night privileges.
